Sample Pick Up

Analytics Labs understands your time is money and we are committed to minimizing your time in testing preparation. Therefore, if you are not able to drop samples off at the lab we will guarantee same day pick ups. We are dedicated to maintaining client timelines while preserving the highest quality laboratory processes.

Sample Drop Off

Analytics Labs is conveniently located in the heart of Holyoke MA. We openly invite you to drop off samples at the lab. While you are here we encourage you to take a quick tour of the facility and learn about our processes. We are excited to answer any questions, describe our procedures, and if you are so inclined, we will teach you how the instruments work. Education is key to unlocking the enigma of cannabis laboratories.

Cannabinoid Profile

Cannabinoid Profile informs producers and patients about the potency and concentration of active cannabinoids in their products. While THC is the most well-known cannabinoid, it’s only responsible for a fraction of cannabis’ medicinal benefits. At Analytics Labs we test for the following 16 cannabinoids: CBDVA, CBDV, CBDA, CBGA, CBG, CBD, THCV, THCVA, CBN, CBNA, D9-THC, D8-THC, CBL, CBC, THCA, CBCA. In the ever-changing landscape of cannabis science and production other specific cannabinoids can be tested upon request.

Terpene Profile

Terpenes and Terpenoids are the aromatic compounds produced within the trichomes of the cannabis plant, with individual terpenes having distinctive aromas and/or flavors. Over 200 have currently been identified in cannabis, and researchers are continually discovering their effects on human health. At Analytics Labs we test for the following 28 Terpenes:  α-Pinene, Camphene, β-Myrcene, β-Pinene, 3-Carene, α-Terpinene, Ocimene 1, Limonene, p-Cymene, Ocimene 2, Eucalyptol, γ-Terpinene, Terpinolene, Linalool, Isopulegol, Menthol, α-Terpineol, Geraniol, β-Caryophyllene, α-Humulene, Valencene, Nerolidol 1, Nerolidol 2, Guaiol, α-Bisabolol, Caryophyllene Oxide, Phytol 1, Phytol 2. Other terpenes can be tested upon request.

Heavy Metals

Cannabis flower and products must be analyzed to ensure that naturally occurring heavy metal elements present in the soil, nutrients, and water that may have been absorbed by plants are below Cannabis Control Commission-established limits. At Analytics Labs Heavy Metals Tested include: Arsenic, Cadmium, Lead and Mercury. Other heavy metals can be tested upon request.

Pesticides, insecticides, herbicides, and fungicides must be registered on a specific crop before they can legally be applied. In the state of MA there are no registered pesticides for cannabis use and tests assure that pesticide concentrations are below CCC-established limits in cannabis products, indicating that no pesticides were applied to the crop. At Analytics Labs pesticides tested include: bifenazate, bifenthrin, cyfluthrin, etoxazole, imazalil, imidicloprid, myclobutanil, spiromesifen and trifloxystrobin. Other pesticides can be tested upon request.

Pathogenic Microbiological Analysis

Ideal conditions for the cultivation of cannabis can also be ideal for the infection and proliferation of microorganisms such as bacteria, fungi, mold, and yeast. These living organisms are much too small to be visible with the naked eye. If cannabis products are not properly screened, they may be contaminated with a variety of harmful pathogens. Ingestion and/or inhalation of which can lead to serious illness, health complications or accelerated degradation of product. The testing indicates whether harmful bacteria (E. coli, Salmonella) are detected, and assures that total bacterial counts and total yeast and mold counts are below Cannabis Control Commission-established limits. At Analytics Labs microbes tested include: E. coli (pathogenic strains), Salmonella spp., total yeast and mold count, total viable aerobic bacteria count, total coliforms, bile-tolerant gram-negative bacteria count. The Lab can identify and quantify pathogenic microorganisms using qPCR or standard plating techniques.

Mycotoxins are naturally occurring metabolites produced by fungi in the fields, grow rooms, post harvesting, and during storage. At Analytics labs testing detects aflatoxins and ochratoxin, which both arise from Aspergillus spp. Testing is required to demonstrate that mycotoxin concentrations are below Cannabis Control Commission-established safety limits. At Analytics Labs tested Mycotoxins include: aflatoxin B1, aflatoxin B2, aflatoxin G1, aflatoxin G2, ochratoxin A
